Scholarship for phd students from IIITDM

DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING KANCHEEPURAM

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram (IIITD&M) was established in 2007 by the Government of India as a Centre of Excellence in the emerging areas of Design and Manufacturing. The IIITD&M is presently functioning in the IIT Madras Campus, Chennai and will move to its new campus at Kelambakkam-Vandalur Road, Chennai. The permanent academic, research cum residential campus is about 30 km from Chennai’s International Airport.

The Institute offers Ph.D. programmes in the disciplines of Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering and Physics. Strong expertise exists among the faculty on both the theoretical and experimental methods
of research.

The Scholars admitted to the Ph.D. programmes under the regular scheme (fulltime) are eligible for the Half-time Teaching/Research Assistantship (HTRA) under the following regulations:

(a) The scholars should work for 8 hours per week to earn this assistantship.

(b) Renewal of assistantship every semester will be contingent on enrolment,

satisfactory progress in research work and good performance during the preceding semester in the discharge of responsibility as teaching/ research assistant.

a) In Engineering for those with Master’s Degree in Engineering Rs.14,000/- p.m. for first 2 years &
Rs.15,000/- p.m. for next 2 years

b) In Engineering for those admitted directly with B.E / B.Tech degrees
Rs.12,000/- p.m. for first 2 years &
Rs.14,000/- p.m. for next 2 years

c) In Sciences
Rs.12,000/- p.m. for first 2 years &
Rs.14,000/- p.m. for next 2 years
